About the role
HC-One is looking for a Maintenance Operative with solid experience in maintenance, building, DIY, cleaning and housekeeping. You’ll also need technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, as well as ideally some IT skills. And, whenever you communicate with a resident or co‑worker, you’ll be truly considerate and kind. This role is 20 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Ensure our residents live in a place that’s proactively inspected and brilliantly maintained at all times.
- Carry out audits and keep records up to date.
- Replace taps or mixer valves, fit new extractor fans, repair timber on bedroom windows, put up new wallpaper, and perform other maintenance tasks with a sense of kindness above everything else.
Safeguarding
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. You must recognise signs of possible abuse, harm or neglect in its different forms and know what to do if there are concerns. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and to undertake additional training in associated areas. You must be able to seek appropriate advice, report concerns and, if action is not taken, you must be able to escalate.
