At HC-One, kindness is at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for a dedicated Chef who can bring their skills and passion for food into our care home kitchen. You'll play a vital role in preparing and serving wholesome, homemade meals that not only meet nutritional needs but also bring comfort and enjoyment to our residents every day.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve meals for residents.
  • Plan menus that are nutritious and appetising.
  • Maintain the highest standards of food safety and kitchen practice using HACCP principles.
  • Show creativity in menu planning and presentation.
  • Work as a team player with a positive attitude and caring approach.
  • Recognise signs of abuse, harm or neglect and undertake safeguarding training, seek advice and report concerns, including escalation if action is not taken.
  • Be comfortable with technology and open to learning digital care planning tools.

Qualifications

  • Recognised qualification such as S/NVQ2 in Catering & Hospitality or Professional Cookery.
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP).
  • Creativity in menu planning and dish presentation.
  • Team‑player qualities, positive attitude and caring approach.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
