About the role

As a Senior Care Assistant at HC One, you will plan and implement personalised care for residents in our dementia, nursing, residential and specialist care homes. You will lead a team of Care Assistants, maintain high care standards, and support the Registered Nurse and Care Manager with physical and mental stimulation, medication administration, and family communication.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver person‑centred care plans that foster security, dignity and independence.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Care Assistants, ensuring adherence to best practice and accurate record keeping.
  • Assist Registered Nurses and Care Managers with medication, rehabilitation, and end‑of‑life support.
  • Administer social and recreational activities that provide physical and mental stimulation.
  • Recognise and respond to safeguarding concerns, attend training and report issues as required.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of care activities for audit and quality review.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 Diploma/SNVQ in Adult Social Care or equivalent.
  • Experience in person‑centred care planning and knowledge of dementia care.
  • Strong record‑keeping skills and effective time management.
  • Positive, compassionate attitude and ability to build relationships with residents, families and staff.
  • Willingness to pursue a Level 3 qualification in Adult Social Care.

Training and Development

Full initial training will be provided, with ongoing learning opportunities to support your career as a Senior Care Assistant.
