This is a full-time night shift position. As a Senior Care Assistant at HC One, kindness will be at the core of everything you do. It touches upon every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes. You will know our residents are people with their own stories to tell and you will plan and implement care that gives residents a real sense of security, dignity and independence. You will get to know residents and their families, helping to ensure we deliver truly personalised care plans. You will lead a team of Care Assistants and be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of care and influencing the rest of the team. You may assist with showing how to use a walking frame, helping someone at the end of life to eat a meal, or talking to a resident’s family, always with kindness. You will assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager and be involved in providing essential physical and mental stimulation through a range of social and recreational activities, as well as administering medication. You will maintain accurate records of the work you do and build strong relationships with the rest of your team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Care Assistants and maintain the highest standards of care.
  • Provide person-centred care and support residents and their families.
  • Assist with activities of daily living, mobility support, and meal assistance as needed.
  • Assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager with care planning and delivery.
  • Provide physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities.
  • Administer medication according to policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and collaborate with the team to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications and requirements

Ideally, you will have completed a Level 2 Diploma/SNVQ in Adult Social Care and be prepared to work towards Level 3 qualification in Adult Social Care or equivalent, with a background in person-centred care planning and knowledge of caring for people with dementia. Essential is your positive energy and ability to get along with people. You will know what good record keeping looks like, manage your time effectively, and communicate with residents and co-workers with kindness and consideration.

  • Level 2 Diploma/SNVQ in Adult Social Care (or equivalent) preferred
  • Prepared to work towards Level 3 qualification
  • Background in person-centred care planning and dementia care
  • Strong record-keeping, time management, and communication skills
