As a Senior Care Assistant at HC One, kindness will be at the core of everything you do. It touches upon every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes. You will get to know our residents and their families, helping to ensure we deliver truly personalised care plans. You will lead a team of Care Assistants, maintain the highest standards of care, and influence the rest of the team. Whether you are showing someone how to use a walking frame, helping someone at the end of their life to eat a meal, or talking to a resident’s family on the phone, you will do so with kindness as the priority. You will assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager, providing essential physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, as well as administering medication. One of your key responsibilities is to maintain accurate records of the work you do and build strong relationships with the team. Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Care Assistants and maintain the highest standards of care; influence the rest of the team.
- Provide care that supports residents’ security, dignity and independence; contribute to personalised care plans with residents and their families.
- Assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager; support essential physical and mental stimulation through activities; administer medication as required.
- Maintain accurate records of care delivered and foster strong working relationships with the care team.
- Support communication with residents and co-workers in a kind and considerate manner.
Qualifications
- Ideally, a Level 2 Diploma in Adult Social Care and prepared to work towards Level 3 qualification in Adult Social Care or equivalent.
- Background in person-centred care planning and knowledge of caring for people with dementia.
- Essential: positive energy, ability to get along with people, strong record-keeping, good time management, and genuine kindness.
