We’re looking for an enthusiastic and committed Care Assistant to join the team at Thorn Springs, where the focus is on delivering the highest quality service. As a Care Assistant, you’ll take responsibility for the physical, emotional and social wellbeing of our residents. This includes assisting with personal care activities (washing, dressing, personal hygiene and meals) and supporting general activities within the home. You’ll provide care that truly comes from the heart, ensuring residents never lose their dignity or individuality.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. You should be able to recognise signs of possible abuse, harm or neglect and know what to do if there are concerns. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and to undertake additional training in associated areas. You should be able to seek appropriate advice and report concerns, including escalation if action is not taken.

Salary and Location
£12.60 to £13.10 per hour. All Locations: Dunstable. Thorn Springs is the home location for this role.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and support with daily living activities (washing, dressing, personal hygiene, meals) and assist with mobility as required.
- Support residents with social activities and engagement to promote wellbeing and quality of life.
- Recognise safeguarding concerns, report appropriately, and participate in safeguarding training as required.
- Deliver care that respects residents’ dignity and individuality, including compassionate end-of-life care where appropriate.
- Offer reassurance and comfort to residents in distress and respond to changing needs with empathy.
