As a Senior Activities Co‑ordinator at HC One, Kindness will be at the core of everything you do. It touches upon every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes. Responsibilities
- Organising and creating a varied activities programme, from organised hobbies to group events, promoting independence, choice and dignity for our residents.
- Getting to know our residents, their interests and life stories to deliver events that enrich their lives and ensure they feel connected with their community.
- Leading and motivating colleagues in delivering activities in the home.
- Actively promoting activities in the community and encouraging family and friends to become involved.
- Keeping up‑to‑date with necessary paperwork and monitoring budgets.
HC-One are looking for someone with a background working with vulnerable individuals, ideally developing activity programmes and leading colleagues. Beyond that, it’s all about your brilliant, positive energy and natural ability to get along with people. You’ll have great planning, organisational and IT skills, be able to manage your time effectively and be comfortable developing relationships in the local community to promote the home. Whenever you communicate with a resident or co‑worker, you’ll be truly considerate and kind.
Safeguarding
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and therefore it is important that you are able to recognise the signs which may indicate possible abuse, harm or neglect in its different forms and know what to do if there are any concerns. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and to undertake additional training in associated areas. You also have the ability to seek appropriate advice and report concerns, including escalation if action is not taken.
