The HR and Recruitment Administrator is an important operational role within the Talent & Recruitment team, responsible for managing the end-to-end pre-employment compliance process for all new starters across the Group - from offer acceptance through to confirmed start date.

Reporting to the Senior HR and Recruitment Administrator, the postholder ensures that all required checks are completed accurately, compliantly, and as quickly as possible, removing barriers to a prompt start and giving new starters the best possible first experience of HC-One.

Speed and compliance are equally important in this role.

The HR and Recruitment Administrator works closely with Regional Recruiters, Home Managers, the Quality & Governance Directorate, and the Training & Practice Development team to ensure every new starter is compliantly cleared, warmly welcomed, and ready to contribute from day one.

The main Responsibilities of the HR and recruitment administrator are

  • Pre employment Compliance checks
  • Speed to start
  • Liaise with operations and home managers
  • Liaise with training and Inductions
  • Create and manage Records, Systems and GDPR compliance
  • Enhance the new starter experience
  • Regular reporting
  • Safeguarding
    For this role candidates will have the following essential skills and attributes:
  • Sound knowledge of safer recruitment requirements, right-to-work legislation, and GDPR as they apply to recruitment and onboarding practice.
  • Understanding of pre-employment compliance requirements within a regulated sector, including DBS, references, occupational health and professional registration checks.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage a high volume of new starters across multiple locations simultaneously without losing accuracy or responsiveness.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the confidence and credibility to work closely with Home Managers and operational leaders.
  • Clear, warm and professional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to keep candidates and managers informed at every stage.
  • Proficient in the use of applicant tracking systems and Microsoft Office 365, with a willingness to embrace digital recruitment tools and platforms
  • Comfortable working independently, managing own diary and priorities, with the resilience and self-motivation to perform well without close day-to-day supervision.
  • Demonstrable experience in a recruitment, HR or compliance administration role, with a track record of managing end-to-end activity across multiple cases simultaneously.

Experience of managing pre employment checks and compliance documentation to deadline.

It would be an advantage for candidates to also have

  • A relevant qualification in HR, recruitment, or a related discipline (equivalent practical experience will also be considered).

Experience within health, social care, or a comparable high-volume, people-focused sector.

  • Experience of supporting a field-based or regionally dispersed recruitment team.
