About the role
Please note: this role is for nights full time 33hrs per week.
As a Senior Care Assistant at HC One, kindness will be at the core of everything you do. You will work across our Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes, planning and implementing care that gives residents a real sense of security, dignity and independence. You will get to know residents and their families, helping ensure we deliver truly personalised care plans. Leading a team of Care Assistants, you will maintain the highest standards of care and influence the rest of the team. Whether you are showing someone how to use a walking frame, helping someone at the end of their life to eat a meal, or talking to a resident’s family on the phone, you’ll do so with kindness. You will assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager, providing essential physical and mental stimulation through a range of social and recreational activities, as well as administering medication. One of your key responsibilities is to maintain accurate records of the work you do and build strong relationships with the rest of your team.
Ideally you will have completed a Level 2 Diploma S/NVQ in Adult Social Care and be prepared to work towards a Level 3 qualification or equivalent, and have experience in person‑centred care planning and caring for people with dementia. What’s essential is your positive energy, natural ability to get along with people, excellent record keeping and time‑management skills, and a considerate and kind communication style with residents and co‑workers.

We champion inclusivity, fostering a workplace where everyone feels valued and can be themselves.
Safeguarding
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility in adult social care. You must recognise signs that may indicate abuse, harm or neglect and know what to do if there are concerns. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and undertake additional training in associated areas. You should be able to seek appropriate advice, report concerns and, if necessary, elevate them for escalation.
