As a Commercial Finance Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in driving the commercial performance of a portfolio of care homes. Combining strategic financial business partnering with commercial insight, you'll work alongside operational leaders to improve occupancy, strengthen financial performance and support informed decision-making that enables our homes to thrive.
This is a senior business partnering role within our Commercial & Growth Directorate, supporting Regional Directors, Area Directors and Home Managers across an assigned portfolio of homes. Acting as the trusted commercial and financial adviser for your region, you'll combine financial expertise with market insight to identify opportunities, mitigate risks and drive sustainable growth.
You'll lead commercial and financial reviews, providing clear analysis of occupancy, revenue, profitability and operational performance while supporting forecasting, budgeting and long-term financial planning. Working collaboratively with operational leaders, you'll help shape occupancy strategies, pricing decisions and commercial plans that maximise performance without compromising the quality of care.
Alongside supporting strategic decision-making, you'll build the financial capability of Home Managers by helping them understand their performance, interpret financial information and make confident commercial decisions. You'll also work closely with commissioners and key external stakeholders, contribute to wider Group reporting and planning, and provide valuable market intelligence that influences regional and national commercial strategy.
About you
You'll be an experienced commercial finance professional who enjoys working in partnership with operational leaders to influence performance and deliver meaningful results. Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with a hands-on approach, you'll be equally confident analysing complex financial data, developing commercial strategies and coaching non-finance colleagues.
You'll bring excellent communication and relationship-building skills, enabling you to challenge constructively, present financial information clearly and build credibility with stakeholders at every level. Commercially minded and naturally curious, you'll use data, market insight and sound judgement to identify opportunities for improvement and support confident decision-making.
We're looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys solving complex problems and shares our commitment to delivering outstanding outcomes for residents, colleagues and the wider business.
What you'll bring
- Significant experience in a commercial finance, financial business partnering or commercial role within a multi-site organisation, ideally in healthcare, social care or another regulated sector.

- Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information into practical business decisions.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence using financial reporting systems.
- Knowledge of the social care funding landscape, including local authority funding, Continuing Healthcare (CHC) and Funded Nursing Care (FNC).
- A full UK driving licence with the flexibility to travel regularly across your assigned region.
Desirable
- A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or a relevant business or commercial degree.
- Experience using Power BI or comparable business intelligence and data analytics platforms.
- Experience within the care home sector and knowledge of the regulatory and commissioning landscape across England, Scotland and Wales.
