About The Role
This role is for a weekend-only position.
As an Assistant Chef at HC-One, you’ll value one thing above all: kindness. It influences every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist Care homes. Your responsibilities will include cooking and serving nutritious, healthy meals that Residents will love. You’ll support our First Chef, taking charge in their absence. Whether managing food stock, optimizing your budget, coaching colleagues, or supervising kitchen clean-up, Resident wellbeing will always be your priority.
HC-One is looking for an Assistant Chef with at least a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and a good understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points. Beyond qualifications, we value your positive energy and ability to get along with people. You should be organized, able to meet deadlines, present food attractively, and follow recipes accurately. When communicating with Residents or colleagues, kindness and consideration are essential.
Safeguarding is everyone\’s responsibility. You should recognize signs of potential abuse, harm, or neglect and know the appropriate actions to take. All colleagues will attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and undertake additional training as needed. You should be able to seek advice and report concerns, escalating issues when necessary.
