Overview

Senior Care Assistant at HC One, where kindness is at the core of care across Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes. You will get to know residents and their families, planning and implementing personalised care plans to give residents security, dignity and independence. You will lead a team of Care Assistants, maintain high standards of care, and influence the team positively. You may assist with tasks such as using a walking frame, supporting meals at end of life, and communicating with residents’ families, all with kindness as the guiding value. You will also assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager in providing physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, and administer medication.

One of your key responsibilities is to maintain accurate records and build strong relationships with the team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of Care Assistants to deliver high-quality care.
  • Plan and implement personalised care plans based on residents’ needs and preferences.
  • Provide essential physical and mental stimulation through activities and meaningful engagement.
  • Assist with administering medication as required and in collaboration with nursing staff.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and related documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with residents and their families.
  • Support safeguarding and a culture of kindness, dignity and independence for residents.
  • Collaborate with the Registered Nurse and Care Manager in daily operations.

Qualifications

  • Ideally hold a Level 2 Diploma or NVQ in Adult Care and be prepared to work towards Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Background in person-centred care planning and knowledge of caring for people with dementia.
  • Strong positive energy and the ability to get along with people.
  • Good record-keeping skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Respectful and kind communication with residents and colleagues.

Details

This is a full-time position of 38.5 hours per week following a 3 on 3 off shift pattern.
