About the role

Are you a passionate Chef looking for an exciting opportunity to make a real difference? HC-One is looking for an Assistant Chef with at least a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and a strong understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points. Beyond that, it is all about your positive energy and natural ability to get along with people.

As an Assistant Chef, you will cook and serve nutritious, healthy meals that our Residents will love. You will provide outstanding support to the First Chef, taking charge in their absence. This includes managing food stock, optimizing the budget, coaching colleagues, and supervising kitchen clean-up, all while keeping Resident wellbeing as a priority.

You will attend safeguarding training appropriate to your role and undertake additional training in associated areas. You must recognise signs of possible abuse, harm or neglect and know how to report concerns, including escalating if action is not taken. You must hold a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and demonstrate an understanding of HACCP principles. Strong organisational skills, the ability to meet deadlines, presenting food attractively, and following recipes accurately are essential.
