Overview
As a Senior Care Assistant at HC One, Kindness will be at the core of everything you do. It touches upon every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes. One of your key responsibilities is to lead a team of Care Assistants, plan and implement the kind of care that will give residents a real sense of security, dignity and independence. You will get to know residents and their families, helping to deliver truly personalised care plans. You may assist with activities, support a Registered Nurse and Care Manager, and participate in providing essential physical and mental stimulation through a range of social and recreational activities, as well as administering medication.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Care Assistants and maintain the highest standards of care
- Plan and deliver personalised care plans that promote security, dignity and independence
- Get to know residents and their families and communicate effectively
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including guidance on the use of mobility aids
- Support end-of-life care where appropriate
- Collaborate with Registered Nurses and the Care Manager
- Provide physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities
- Administer medication as required
- Maintain accurate records of the care you provide and build strong team relationships
Qualifications
- Ideally the Level 2 Diploma/SNVQ in Adult Social Care
- Prepared to work towards Level 3 qualification in Adult Social Care or equivalent
- Background in person-centred care planning and knowledge of caring for people with dementia
- Strong positive energy and ability to get along with people
- Good record-keeping skills and time management
- Considerate and kind communication with residents and co-workers
