You will play a key role in supporting the delivery of solutions on our agentic AI platform, working closely with the Workforce Portal Product Manager to ensure the quality and reliability of innovative automation and AI-driven capabilities across the organisation. Working within the development and product teams, you will help ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of applications across web and mobile platforms, designing and executing manual test cases, identifying defects, and supporting the delivery of high-quality software.

The role requires a strong attention to detail and a passion for quality assurance, working in fast-paced and agile environments to validate application functionality and ensure solutions meet both technical and business requirements. The Tester will collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to identify issues early and support continuous improvement of testing processes and product quality. You will be reporting to the IT Service Manager.

  • Understanding of manual testing processes and defect lifecycle management.
  • EXPERIENCE
    • Experience performing manual testing of web and/or mobile applications.
    • Experience developing and executing test cases and test scenarios.
    • Experience identifying, documenting, and tracking software defects.
    • Experience working in agile or fast-paced development environments.
  • KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
    • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
    • Ability to identify and clearly document defects and test outcomes.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders.
    • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple testing tasks.
    • Commitment to delivering high-quality software and improving product reliability.
  • OTHER JOB-RELATED REQUIREMENTS
    • Ability to produce clear and accurate test documentation.
    • Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional development teams.
    • A proactive approach to identifying risks, issues, and quality improvements.
  • Desirable;
    • EDUCATION AND TRAINING
    • Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB or equivalent).
    • Training or exposure to automated testing tools and frameworks.
  • EXPERIENCE
    • Experience supporting or participating in User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
    • Exposure to automated testing approaches or frameworks.
    • Experience working closely with development teams within product delivery environments.
  • KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
    • Understanding of web technologies and how applications function across browsers and devices.
    • Awareness of automated testing concepts and quality engineering practices.

    Within this position, you will mainly be:

    • Developing and executing comprehensive manual test cases for web and mobile applications.
    • Validating application functionality against requirements, ensuring features operate as expected.
    • Identifying, documenting, and tracking defects using established defect management tools.
    • Working closely with development and product teams to reproduce and resolve identified issues.
    • Supporting the creation and maintenance of test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.
    • Providing accurate reporting on testing progress, outcomes, and identified risks.
    • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the development lifecycle.
    • Participating in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives where required.
    • Supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities and assisting business users with testing activities.
    • Ensuring applications meet functional, usability, and performance expectations prior to release.
    • Identifying opportunities to improve testing methodologies, processes, and documentation.
    • Supporting the exploration and adoption of test automation where appropriate.
    • Contributing to the continuous improvement of product quality across development cycles.
