We are looking for a strategic and commercially-minded Senior Commercial Analyst to join our Finance team, reporting directly to the Finance Manager. You will be the primary lead on developing robust cost models for NHS and private healthcare services, ensuring our commercial proposals are competitive, sustainable, and data-driven. This role is ideal for a candidate who can translate complex financial data into actionable insights for senior leadership and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Modelling: Lead the preparation of sophisticated cost models to support work for the NHS (both direct awards/extensions, and tenders) and the private market, working with multiple stakeholders (notably sales, operations) to compile cost estimates and sensitivities.
- Pricing: Contribute strongly to pricing strategy discussions, using insights from cost models and historic financial performance.
- Variance analysis: Prepare granular comparisons of actual business performance against target margins to drive further enhancement of cost models and identify opportunities to reduce value leakage.
- Market Analysis: Provide deep-dive analysis into the NHS market and competitor strategies to support tactical and strategic pricing decisions.
- Financial: Retain acute awareness of financial plan and targets, ensuring that pricing strategy is aligned to deliver overall business objectives.
Requirements:
Essential
- EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING: Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent.
- EXPERIENCE: Experience with financial data and variance analysis. Experience in a commercial function, ideally in the Healthcare industry. Experience of working with a range of stakeholders from a variety of functions.
- KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, with an eye for detail. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Strong planning and organisational skills. Desire to improve processes, including through use of AI. Ability to work independently and proactively, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving acumen who enjoys working with others to find the best solutions.

- EXPERIENCE: Experience in cost modelling. Experience in the NHS or a company that has worked with the NHS.
