Production Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Engineer to join our Operations team. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives on problem-solving, continuous improvement, and developing efficient manufacturing processes within a highly regulated environment.
Overview of the role
As a Production Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting both existing production operations and the introduction of new products. Working closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and other stakeholders, you will influence design for manufacture, drive process improvements, and develop safe, efficient manufacturing solutions that support business growth and operational excellence.

Responsibilities
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
- Develop, implement, and maintain safe and efficient manufacturing processes and work instructions.
- Support new product introduction activities, ensuring successful transition into production.
- Influence product design through Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles to improve manufacturability and operational efficiency.
- Manage manufacturing change activities, including process, tooling, equipment, and documentation updates.
- Identify, justify, and deliver capital investment projects to support production and business objectives.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure manufacturing activities comply with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to solve production challenges and drive operational excellence.
- Support PFMEA, DFMEA, and Quality Management System (QMS) activities.
- Train and support production personnel in new processes, equipment, and tooling.
Essential Qualifications, Skills and/or Experience
- HNC Level 4 qualification (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline.
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working within multi-functional teams.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies.
- Strong report writing and presentation skills.
Desirable Qualifications, Skills and/or Experience
- Experience of continuous improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of regulated manufacturing environments.
- Understanding of PFMEA, DFMEA, and change management processes.
- Experience supporting new product introduction activities.
