Assistant Management Accountant
Location: Strongdor Head Office, Morecambe
Salary: 35k – 40k per annum + quarterly discretionary bonus scheme and other great benefits.
Full time, Office based
As part of this role, you will be required to travel between local sites. Therefore, a full UK driving license is required.
We're on the lookout for an Assistant Management Accountant to join the team at Strongdor, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of steel doors. You'll play a key part in keeping our financial information accurate, supporting important business decisions, and helping ensure our finance processes run smoothly. Working closely with colleagues across the business, you'll have plenty of opportunities to make a real impact while continuing to develop your career.
What you'll be doing:
As our Assistant Management Accountant, you'll:
- Take ownership of key balance sheet reconciliations, including stock and factory-related accounts.
- Prepare and maintain accurate stock reconciliations and accounting records.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of financial controls and processes.
- Help ensure financial reporting is accurate, timely, and reliable.
- Work with our newly implemented purchase ledger system, Readsoft to ensure invoices are posted accurately and on time.
- Assist with month-end activities and a variety of finance projects.
- Work closely with teams across the business to improve systems, processes, and controls.
- Ensure financial records comply with company policies and accounting standards.
- Process fixed asset additions, disposals, and depreciation.
- Regularly review inventory balances to maintain accuracy.
- Analyse spending patterns, identify trends, highlight risks, and spot opportunities to reduce costs.
What we're looking for:
We're looking for someone who is naturally organised, enjoys solving problems, and has a keen eye for detail. You'll be comfortable working with financial data, enjoy collaborating with others, and take pride in producing accurate work.
Essential skills and experience:
- Previous experience carrying out account reconciliations.
- Experience accounting for stock and inventory.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- AAT part-qualified, fully qualified, or currently studying towards CIMA or ACA.
It would be great if you also have:
- Experience using NAV 2018.
- Previous experience working within a manufacturing environment.
Hours of work:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
