We are looking for an experienced Utilities Coordinator or Utilities Manager to join a well-established housebuilder, supporting residential developments across the Northwest .
Youll manage utility infrastructure from initial feasibility through to connection and completion, working closely with Construction, Commercial, Technical and Design teams.
The role will coordinate utility providers, statutory authorities and third parties, while managing programme, cost and technical risks to ensure services are delivered safely, efficiently and on time.
This opportunity would suit a Utilities Coordinator, Utilities Manager, Services Manager or Infrastructure Manager with experience supporting large-scale residential developments.
Key Responsibilities Provide information on existing and proposed utility services to support the assessment and appraisal of new development opportunities.
Coordinate utility applications, quotations and orders, ensuring these are progressed early enough to meet project programmes.
Manage the delivery of utility infrastructure and connections, including both off-site and on-site works.
Work with construction teams to establish appropriate strategies and sequencing for utility installations and final connections.
Develop and maintain utility programmes for individual developments, highlighting key dates, dependencies and potential risks.
Coordinate with statutory authorities, utility providers, independent connection providers and other relevant third parties.
Support Commercial teams with the procurement of mechanical, electrical and utility-related packages, including preparation of scopes, assessment of quotations and attendance at pre-order meetings.
Assist with the commercial review of contractor and supplier payment applications where required.
Work alongside Design and Technical teams to review and resolve queries relating to utility and building-services designs.
Manage applications and installation programmes for meters and permanent services.
Ensure all necessary testing, witnessing, certification and connection documentation is completed ahead of practical completion and handover.
Establish appropriate inspection and testing procedures throughout the delivery of utility works.
Develop and coordinate testing and commissioning strategies for projects.
Support site teams in arranging temporary and permanent power and water supplies for compounds and construction activities.
Provide utility and services information for project reviews, gateways and key development meetings.
Maintain clear communication with internal teams, contractors, utility providers and other project stakeholders.
Review contractor RAMS and utility proposals to ensure works comply with relevant health, safety and environmental requirements, legislation and industry best practice.
Identify technical, contractual, financial and operational risks associated with utility delivery and develop appropriate mitigation measures.
Identify opportunities for value engineering and improved methods of service delivery without compromising safety, quality or programme.
You will ideally have: HNC/HND or equivalent technical qualification or relevant industry experience.
Experience delivering utilities within housebuilding, residential development or construction.
Good knowledge of utility legislation and service delivery requirements.
Experience securing POCs and managing utility diversions and new connections.
Strong technical and commercial understanding of utility infrastructure.
Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
