We operate in London (6 sites), Lisbon (1 site) and Kolkata. This is an exciting People Manager role focussing on Training and Recruitment within a small restaurant business, with big ideas! Working closely with operational managers and key decision makers, you will have responsibility for fine-tuning the recruitment and training processes and the opportunity to develop your generalist HR skills. Currently, there are 5 sites in London and 1 in Lisbon, with a pipeline of further London and international openings. This role would suit a People Manager who has previously worked as an operational manager, is happy to 'get hands on' operationally in support of people development initiatives and a 'can do' culture. This role is employee facing, so regular remote working cannot be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing recruitment, selection and the onboarding process including sourcing and interviewing talent at all levels.
- Implementing and managing the company’s communication, feedback and reward and recognition systems.
- Assessing the need for training and then designing and implementing training programs (group, 1 to 1, and online) accordingly.
- Conducting on-the-job training with team and management.
- Setting and managing employee benefits.
- Ensuring that the company’s procedures comply with employment regulations with the support of an external HR Advisor.
- Supporting the managers to hold regular job chats and performance improvement discussions.
- Supporting in any disciplinary processes and formal grievances.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Significant experience in recruitment (including management roles) and training (group, and one to one on the job), at site management level or above in the hospitality sector in the UK.
- Experienced in a similar role, in a multi-site environment in the hospitality sector.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to listen and effectively verbalise ideas.
- Strong leadership skills to influence senior stakeholders as well as connect with, support and motivate front line staff.
- Must be able to demonstrate very strong organisational skills and attention to detail, while working at pace.
- Solid ethics and morals and sound judgement.
- Ability to work productively within an ambiguous, fast-paced entrepreneurial environment while implementing systems and processes to support expansion.
- Ideally CIPD qualified.
