We are looking for an experienced Project Manager or Engineer/Sub Agent looking to progress to Project Manager for high profile Water Projects across Yorkshire. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing civil engineering projects within the agreed budget, timeline, and scope. This role requires strong leadership and problem-solving skills to ensure successful project execution. The candidate will oversee site operations, manage subcontractors, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. They will also be responsible for liaising with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and deliverables in line with contract requirements.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure all work is completed to the required quality, safety, and environmental standards.
- Control project budgets, resources, and materials to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Coordinate with design and engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
Site Management:
- Supervise site activities, ensuring compliance with specifications, regulations, and health & safety standards.
- Manage site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient workflow and productivity.
- Conduct site inspections and audits, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Lead daily briefings and ensure effective communication between site personnel.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a key link between project management and site teams, ensuring work is executed as per plans.
- Assist in setting out and surveying work, ensuring technical accuracy.
- Ensure all materials, equipment, and labour resources are available and used efficiently.
- Provide technical support and problem-solving on-site.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in project management, site management, or as a sub-agent in civil engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, site supervision, and contract management.
- Proficiency in project planning tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and site management software.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in construction.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing project requirements.
