We're recruiting an experienced HR Operations Manager to join our client within the education sector. This is a varied, hands-on HR role where you'll act as the lead HR contact for a portfolio of schools, working closely with Headteachers and senior leaders to provide practical, commercially minded HR advice and support. You'll manage a broad range of employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, capability, sickness absence, probation and conduct, coaching managers through both informal and formal processes.

The role will also include:

  • Providing day-to-day HR advice on employment law, policies and terms & conditions
  • Supporting recruitment and safer recruitment processes
  • Managing attendance and Occupational Health processes
  • Supporting organisational change and consultation
  • Monitoring HR compliance and workforce information
  • Producing and interpreting HR data and reports
  • Managing and supporting HR Administrators to ensure an efficient and responsive HR service

About you: We're looking for an experienced generalist HR professional who is confident managing ER casework and advising managers at all levels. You'll have a good working knowledge of UK employment law, strong communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. Ideally you'll be CIPD Level 5 qualified, part-qualified or able to demonstrate equivalent experience. Previous education-sector experience would be useful but is not essential.

This role has a designated base but involves regular planned travel between schools within the allocated portfolio, with approved travel expenses reimbursed.
