Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll and cash flow management.
- Manage month-end and year-end processes, producing accurate management accounts and financial reports.
- Monitor stock levels, parts usage, and associated costs, ensuring accurate valuation and reporting.
- Develop controls around purchasing, stock, and supplier management to minimise waste and improve efficiency.
- Support budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and tax obligations, including VAT returns.
- Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and other external partners.
- Provide financial insights to support decision-making at the senior level.
- Oversee and support any finance/administration team members.
About You
- CIMA/ACCA Finalist, with strong allāround finance experience.
- Previous experience in a stock or partsābased industry (e.g., engineering, automotive, construction, manufacturing, or similar) is highly desirable.
- An expert in Excel.
- Strong working knowledge of accounting systems (e.g., Sage would be an advantage).
- Confident working in an SME environment, handsāon, proactive, and able to turn your hand to everything from detailālevel bookkeeping through to boardālevel reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Review and make decisions to make the department stronger.
- Strong communication skills, able to liaise confidently across the business.
