Practice Accountant, Ormskirk, up to £45k plus bonus opportunity. Office based with flexible working hours; would consider full time or part time. Option for hybrid working once successfully passed probation.

The Role

The successful candidate will manage a varied portfolio of clients and be involved in all aspects of accounts preparation, taxation, and client support. Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
  • Completion of VAT returns and bookkeeping where required
  • Preparation of personal and corporation tax returns
  • Managing client relationships and responding to queries
  • Supporting clients with cloud accounting software including Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage
  • Assisting with management accounts and general practice work
  • Ensuring work is completed accurately and on time
  • Liaising with HMRC where necessary

About You

  • Previous experience working within an accountancy practice is essential
  • ACA/ACCA qualified, part-qualified, qualified by experience, or currently studying
  • Accountancy qualifications are not essential for the right candidate
  • Good working knowledge of accounts, VAT, and taxation
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Friendly and professional manner with clients and colleagues
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
  • Experience with cloud accounting software preferred
  • Right to work in the UK and be able to start in the location ASAP
