HB Partners are working with a growing organisation in the education sector to recruit a Systems & Reporting Accountant. The Role: Reporting to the Finance Director, you'll play a key role in ensuring robust financial reporting while driving improvements across finance systems and processes. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
- Reviewing and improving finance systems, controls and reporting processes.
- Leading the implementation and optimisation of financial systems.
- Working closely with budget holders to monitor financial performance.
- Supporting year-end accounts and audit preparation.
- Maintaining fixed asset and contract registers.
- Delivering training on finance systems and new processes where required.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function.
About You: We're interested in hearing from candidates currently working as a:
- Systems Accountant

- Finance Business Partner
- Finance Manager
- Reporting Accountant
- Finance Systems Accountant
You'll ideally have:
- A recognised finance qualification.
- Experience producing management accounts and financial reports.
- Strong budgeting, forecasting and analytical skills.
- Excellent Excel and finance systems knowledge.
- A proactive approach with a passion for improving processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience within education, academies or the public sector would be advantageous, as would knowledge of school finance systems such as IMP, FMS or similar, but neither is essential.
