Position Details Location: Liverpool, Central Liverpool, Local Authority Working Arrangement: Hybrid, Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00 (35 Hours/week) Contract: 1 Month (Potential extension) Salary: £16ph Umbrella Role Overview Provide professional financial support to ensure effective financial management, planning, monitoring, and reporting in line with statutory requirements and council policies. Contribute to delivering high-quality financial advice and services to support efficient, value-for-money services. Responsibilities & Duties Assist in providing regular budgetary control information and advice to budget holders under supervision. Verify and distribute payroll information for business unit managers. Maintain financial information systems, including input and monitoring of budget virements, accountancy journals, suspense accounts, and new accounting codes. Assist with completing financial returns and grant claims accurately and on time for audits and funding bodies. Deputise for other finance team members as needed. Be aware of the City Council\’s personnel policies and procedures relevant to the Finance Team. Key Requirements Knowledge of financial software, enquiry packages, and corporate accounting systems. Experience working accurately within procedures and deadlines in a financial environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and familiarity with accounting software. Ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies efficiently.
