Job Type: Full or part-time permanent position, hybrid

Office location: Cheltenham

Due to continued growth, we are now seeking an experienced Manager to join our specialist legal team. Based in beautiful offices in central Cheltenham, the team comprises more than 50 professionals, including three Partners, and services over 200 law firms and over 1,000 individual solicitors. The position is in an important strategic area for the business and the individual will have the responsibility for delivering an exceptional service to a growing client portfolio of law firms.

Role and responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising a portfolio of law firm clients, taking responsibility for all aspects of their accounting and advisory needs.
  • Overseeing work both remotely, in our offices and occasionally at client premises, and liaising with clients, including acting as a key point of contact for day-to-day ad hoc queries and enquiries.
  • Project work, such as practice restructuring, valuations, mergers, succession planning.
  • Liaising closely with our dedicated internal tax team and involvement in tax compliance and planning work where necessary.
  • Supervising, motivating and coaching staff, including involvement in staff training, staff one-to-one meetings and appraisals.

Requirements:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
  • Up to date technical knowledge (UK GAAP, Companies Act, Financial Reporting Standards, etc.).
  • Team and peer leadership skills, including the ability to appraise, motivate and develop staff.
  • Previous experience of working with law firms would be helpful but is not essential.
