Warehouse Assistant & Driver - The Role:
As a Warehouse Assistant & Driver, you'll play an important role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our warehouse and yard. You'll be responsible for maintaining an organised, safe working environment, supporting stock control, loading and unloading vehicles, and assisting with deliveries when required.
Warehouse Assistant & Driver - Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the warehouse and yard while maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment
- Complete all warehouse, yard and materials control duties efficiently and accurately
- Follow all company policies, procedures and health and safety requirements
- Organise the return of materials and manage waste materials returned by installation teams for correct segregation and disposal
- Load and unload delivery vehicles safely, efficiently and to maximise vehicle capacity
- Complete and maintain all relevant delivery documentation, including filing signed delivery notes
- Attend departmental meetings as required and provide updates on operational activities
- Provide cover for colleagues when required to support business needs
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve warehouse operations and departmental performance
- Carry out any other reasonable duties requested by your Line Manager to support the business
Warehouse Assistant & Driver You:
- You'll be a practical, organised individual who enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in maintaining high standards
- A full, valid UK driving licence, ideally including 3.5-tonne and/or 7-tonne vehicle entitlement
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across different departments
- A positive, flexible approach and a strong team ethic
- A DBS certificate would be preferable
