Operations / OT Specialist with a strong Electrical Engineering and SCADA background to lead advisory and delivery services for UK water sector clients.
This role focuses on driving operational excellence, modernizing OT environments, and improving asset reliability through advanced maintenance and digital strategies.
You will act as a trusted advisor to water utilities, guiding complex projects and programs across operations, maintenance, and OT/SCADA transformation, while ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Advisory & Client Leadership
- Lead complex consulting engagements across operations, maintenance, and OT/SCADA domains
- Serve as a trusted advisor to client executives, asset managers, and operational leaders
- Define and deliver transformation strategies for water and wastewater utilities
- Lead client workshops, executive briefings, and stakeholder alignment sessions
- Baseline company performance indicators and devise roadmaps or projects that improve overall business performance and establish tracking KPIs with key stakeholders
- Stakeholder Management
- Operations & Maintenance Excellence
- Advise on advanced maintenance strategies (predictive, condition based, reliability centered maintenance) Drive improvements in asset reliability, uptime, and lifecycle cost optimization
- Integrate OT data into maintenance and operational decision making Support development of enterprise asset management and maintenance frameworks OT / SCADA & Electrical Systems Leadership
- Provide technical leadership on SCADA, telemetry, PLCs, and industrial control systems
- Assess and modernize legacy OT architectures, including integration with IT systems
- Define OT strategies covering cybersecurity, resilience, and scalability
- Support design and optimization of electrical systems for treatment works and networks
- Lead OT/SCADA master planning and roadmap development
- Undertake in depth hazard reviews of site electrical infrastructure and formalize plans for maintenance and investment planning
- Regulatory & Industry Alignment
- Ensure all client solutions align with UK regulatory frameworks and expectations
- Support regulatory engagement and readiness with bodies such as the Environment Agency and Ofwat
- Provide strategic input into AMP cycles, business planning, and performance commitments
- Required Skills & Experience
- 15+ years of experience in the water sector (utility, system integrator, or consulting)
- Extensive knowledge of water and wastewater operations and maintenance practices
- Strong background in Electrical Engineering and industrial control systems
- Deep expertise in SCADA systems, PLCs, telemetry, and OT architecture
- Proven experience leading OT/SCADA transformation or modernization programs
- Experience integrating OT data into asset management and operational strategies
- Strong understanding of UK regulatory frameworks and AMP cycles
- Experience with cybersecurity considerations in OT environments
- Project and or Program Management
- FMECA and or root cause analysis experience
