Position Overview
Hazeltree is seeking a motivated Postgraduate Analyst with a strong foundation in computer studies and a keen interest in financial operations. The role focuses on supporting treasury and margin workflows within prime brokerage models, leveraging modern data analysis and modelling technologies. The successful candidate will contribute to projects involving the leading platforms in margin and treasury management for hedge funds and asset managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply strong arithmetic and spreadsheet skills to support treasury and margin calculations.
- Assist in building and automating reporting processes using Python.
- Support daily operational tasks including cash, collateral, and margin monitoring.
- Liaise directly with hedge fund clients to clarify data, workflows, and operational requirements.
- Contribute to documentation of workflows, controls, and system processes.
Required Skills & Experience
- Postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
- Intermediate Python programming skills (data manipulation, automation scripts).
- Strong proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, macros, complex formulas, financial modelling).
- Familiarity with databases and data query tools (SQL desirable).
- Understanding of prime brokerage models, margining, and collateral management in asset-management or hedge-fund environments.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proactive problem-solving and eagerness to learn industry-specific systems.
