Hazel Tree Education is seeking a permanent, dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join a client near Widnes to support the team within a supported living environment for young people aged 16 to 18. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by supporting young people as they develop independence and transition into adulthood.
About the Role
As a Support Worker, you will provide high-quality, person-centred support to young people living in supported accommodation. You will play a vital role in helping them build essential life skills, confidence, and resilience within a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support young people in developing independent living skills such as cooking, budgeting, and maintaining a home
- Promote emotional wellbeing, offering guidance and encouragement
- Assist with education, training, and employment pathways
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to support plans and risk assessments
- Build positive, professional relationships with young people
- Work collaboratively with external agencies, families, and professionals
- Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and company policies at all times
What We’re Looking For
- A caring, patient, and resilient individual with a passion for supporting young people
- Experience in a support or care role
- Have an enhanced DBS for child and adults registered to the update service or be willing to obtain a new one
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends
- Understanding of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
