Hazel Tree Education are currently supporting an SEMH primary school in Ashton-in-Makerfield in their search for a passionate and engaging Level 3 Teaching Assistant. Using an array of educational, therapeutic and play practices, the school supports learners with a multitude of social, emotional and mental health needs. Due to the high needs of the learners, the successful applicant must be resilient in nature with a warm, empathetic outlook to be able to build trusting, respectful relationships. This ‘Outstanding’ school continually strives to provide the best for their children, whose needs are varied and complex. It prides itself on being a friendly school that knows the importance of making the school environment and the school curriculum offer just right for the children that need it the most as they work towards being a non-exclusion school. The role is due to commence in the new academic year, September 2025, and is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 3.30pm, and is set to span long-term for the right candidate. What we\’re looking for: * Have SEND experience, specifically supporting learners with social, emotional and mental health needs including challenging behaviour * Be patient, calm and kind order to form positive, trusting relationships with pupils * Be flexible, adaptable to change and able to work on own initiative * Have a clear and current DBS on the Update Service * Have a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification Successful candidates must have: * An Enhanced DBS on the Update service or be willing to obtain one * Two references within the last 2 years including most recent/current employer. * Right to Work in the UK * A good standard of literacy and numeracy with excellent written and verbal communication. * Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and all employment breaks must be explained. * Must be willing to attend a face to face or Teams registration interview.
