About the Role :
Our client is looking for an exceptional Category Insights & Shopper Marketing Manager to join the team! This is a fantastic cross-functional opportunity to play a key role in shaping the brand strategy and vision with UK customers. As the Category Insights & Shopper Marketing Manager, you will be the driving force behind understanding consumer behaviour, identifying category trends, and developing impactful shopper marketing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities :
- Be the internal Category and Data expert who supports the commercial team with regular reports and insights to review performance. Identify risks and opportunities, and prioritise key wins for the business.
- Lead the Category Insights and Shopper Marketing strategy, utilising data to identify consumer and shopper trends that will drive brand growth and innovation.
- Collaborate internally with the Brand and Sales teams to provide recommendations and execute Category and Shopper strategies.
- Provide a balance of fact-based data, storytelling and creativity.
- Manage and analyse shopper research, ensuring deep insights into consumer motivations, preferences, and purchasing behaviour.
- Develop and present actionable insights to internal teams, customers, and stakeholders to influence decision-making.
- Track category performance and recommend adjustments to optimise sales and market share.
- Build strong relationships with retailers, ensuring that in-store activation plans are aligned with shopper behaviour insights.
- Is an expert of the consumer environment and can identify insights and trends to best enable NPD/EPD and activation.
- Develop plans for Shopper Marketing activity based on account priorities, and execute these plans, with full adherence to Brand Guidelines. This would include POS and Secondary Siting opportunities.
- Understand and monitor Channel Sector performance, and lead projects for online and convenience growth plans.
- Set KPIs for Shopper activation, and post-evaluate all activity, with ROI where possible and learnings for future activation.
- Build good relationships with retailer media partners and reflect retailer strategies in company plans.
- Input more broadly into our marketing strategies.
Skills & Experience :
- Proven FMCG Category Management AND Shopper Marketing experience.
- Knowledge of success in Shopper Marketing.
- Category-strategy thought leadership.
- Broad knowledge of the FMCG market across key channels including Mults, Wholesale, Discounters & Online.
- Numeracy and strong attention to detail.
- Authoritative voice holding gravitas in Category data discussions.
- Draws insight and develops a story through data and numbers.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Good at building relationships.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- Confidence to challenge colleagues and the business in a constructive way to deliver improved results.
