Hayward Hawk are proud to be recruiting on behalf of our financial services client for an Assistant Accountant on a full-time, permanent basis. You'll have the opportunity to grow in your role, while playing an important part in our client's continued success.
What you'll do:
- Maintain accurate product and project cost records, ensuring all direct and indirect costs are captured.
- Prepare standard and actual cost analysis, investigating and explaining variances.
- Support pricing decisions with reliable cost data and insights.
- Assist with overhead allocation and reconciliation of cost centres.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and performance reports.
- Analyse P&L, balance sheet, and other financial data to highlight trends and variances.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal postings, reconciliations, and accruals.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
What you'll need:
- 2 years experience post graduation in accounting or similar.
- Part-qualified (ACCA, ACA, CIMA).
- Good accounting skills and significant progress towards completion of professional accounting exams and qualification.
- Good Excel skills and strong IT skills.
- Previous experience in preparing management accounts, stock reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with staff at all levels.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
