HAYWARD HAWK is delighted to be working with a locally growing business based in Co. Down to recruit an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer . This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic IT team supporting a group of well-established brands across Ireland and the UK.


The Role:

As IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting and maintaining both cloud and on-premise infrastructure across multiple business entities. Youll ensure the stability, security, and performance of core IT systems and services, taking ownership of Level 3 support and contributing to the delivery of infrastructure improvement projects.

The Duties:

  • Manage and support hybrid infrastructure (Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory, Citrix, VMware).
  • Provide advanced Level 3 support for server, networking, and security-related issues.
  • Monitor, maintain, and improve disaster recovery and business continuity processes.
  • Troubleshoot and support VPNs, SD-WAN, routers, and firewalls across branch locations.
  • Ensure cybersecurity best practices including EDR and vulnerability management.
  • Maintain server patching, system backups, and high-availability configurations.
  • Collaborate with ERP and database teams to support performance and uptime.
  • Contribute to system upgrades, migrations, and other infrastructure projects.
  • Maintain documentation and IT operational procedures.
  • Support procurement and vendor management related to hardware and infrastructure.

The Person:

You will have:

  • A degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • 2+ years experience in IT infrastructure, systems, or network administration.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft tech stack: Windows Server, Azure, Active Directory, M365, Hyper-V.
  • Experience with firewalls and networking (e.g., SonicWall, Cisco, Fortinet, Meraki).
  • Knowledge of remote access technologies such as Citrix or RDP.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and enterprise security tools.
  • Experience with backup solutions and disaster recovery planning.

Remuneration:

  • Competitive salary up to £50,000 (DOE)
