Hayward Hawk are delighted to be working once again with our client to help recruit for a motivated and detail-focused Finance Assistant in Belfast. This is a full time role permanent role.

What you'll do

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including journal entries, accruals, and variance analysis to support informed business decision-making
  • Oversee the end-to-end process of customer billing and debt collection, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution of outstanding accounts
  • Support the monitoring of daily cash flow and assist with reconciliation of banking transactions
  • Contribute to the monthly financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
  • Support our credit control function, ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Manage supplier interactions, including logging incoming invoices and addressing discrepancies
  • Coordinate and execute scheduled payment batches in line with company policies
  • Perform ad hoc financial duties and administrative support as directed by the finance leadership team

What you'll need

  • Competence with Microsoft Excel and the ability to work with data effectively
  • Confident communicator with professional telephone skills, able to manage both client and supplier interactions
  • Familiarity with financial or ERP software systems; experience within a manufacturing or production-led environment is advantageous
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Proactive problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset

  • Experience dealing with US accounts would be preferable
