Hayward Hawk are proud to be recruiting on behalf of client for an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper on a full-time, permanent basis. You'll have the opportunity to grow in your role, while playing an important part in our client's continued success. This is a hybrid role.

What you'll do:

  • Record all financial transactions accurately in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage).
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial documents to ensure consistency.
  • Manage and process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and trial balances.
  • Assist with the preparation and filing of VAT returns, PAYE, and other tax-related documents as required.
  • Assist with payroll processing, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time.
  • Maintain organised and accurate records of all financial transactions and related documentation.
  • Support in budgeting processes and assist in financial forecasting and analysis.
  • Assist auditors with year-end financial audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

What you'll need:

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of VAT, payroll, and other tax regulations.
