Hayward Hawk is delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing software organisation to recruit an IT & Application Support Engineer to join their Belfast-based team. This is a hands-on, user-focused support role offering strong exposure across both IT infrastructure and business-critical applications. It's ideally suited to someone who enjoys problem-solving, taking ownership, and becoming a trusted go-to support specialist.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality support across the organisation, ensuring users can operate effectively with minimal disruption.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day IT support via ticketing system, email, and phone
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues
- Support Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)
- Manage user accounts, access, licences, password resets, and MFA
- Support and maintain core business applications
- Run basic SQL queries to investigate issues and support data requests
- Maintain system documentation, templates, and configurations
- Escalate issues clearly to development teams when required
- Liaise with third-party IT providers
What You’ll Need
- Minimum 2 years experience in a 1st Line IT or Application Support role
- Strong experience supporting Microsoft 365 in a business environment
- SQL knowledge is essential

- Users receive consistent, high-quality support
- Issues are diagnosed properly and resolved or escalated effectively
- Strong control over user access, devices, and security processes
- Reduction in repeat issues and reactive firefighting
