Hayward Hawk is delighted to be working with an accountancy firm based in greater Belfast who are seeking an Accounts Technician to join their busy finance team coming from a practice background.
What Youll Do:
- Preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and small companies
- Management of bookkeeping, including processing sales and purchase invoices, reconciliations, and bank statements
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns and other statutory filings
- Assisting with payroll processing and related compliance tasks
- Maintaining accurate client records and files, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Liaising with clients to gather information and respond to queries
- Supporting senior accountants and managers with audits, year-end work, and other client engagements
- Participating in internal projects and continuous process improvement initiatives
What Youll Need:
- Accounting Technician qualification or working towards
- 1-3 years experience in an accountancy practice preferred
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping, accounts preparation, and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Excellent MS Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational and time management skills, able to prioritise workload effectively
