Description
Angular Developer role
Overview
We are passionate about the impact our product is making, particularly in areas like sustainable supply chain management and traceability. Our flagship application enables organisations to track forest-risk commodities across their supply chains, helping them meet sustainability targets and comply with relevant regulations. In doing so, we aim to combat deforestation and illicit trade in commodity supplies. Designed for scalability, our platform supports an expanding number of supply chains and organisations, with the flexibility to onboard other industries and products seamlessly.
The Role
We’re a small, distributed team based across Europe. We\'re looking not only for strong technical expertise but also for individuals who are kind, curious, and collaborative. Our culture empowers engineers to deeply understand and own the problems they’re solving—not just to write code that’s \"good enough.\"
In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of developing our flagship application, involved in all stages of the product lifecycle—from design and development to ongoing maintenance. You’ll focus on building intuitive, user-friendly interfaces through maintainable, high-quality code, while actively participating in the product’s evolution by contributing ideas and suggesting improvements.
What we’re looking for:
- A passion for web application development and a drive to deliver impactful solutions
- Proficiency in TypeScript, Angular 14+ (we are currently using version 17), CSS3/SCSS, and HTML5
- Experience working with RESTful and GraphQL APIs
What we offer:
- A competitive salary
- 25 days of paid leave, plus paid public holidays
- An enhanced pension scheme
- The flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in Europe or from a shared workspace in London
- A meaningful technical challenge on a project with real-world impact
Would you like to join a team building a product that truly makes a difference?

How to prepare for a job interview at Haystack
✨Brush Up on Your Coding Skills
For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.
✨Know Your Tools and Frameworks
Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Haystack uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.
✨Showcase Your Projects
Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.
✨Prepare for Behavioural Questions
While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
