We’re recruiting a Quality Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing site based in Hereford. This role sits within a technically demanding, safety-led environment where quality, compliance and process control are key. The successful candidate will join a structured team supporting a complex manufacturing operation, with clear expectations, robust processes and a strong focus on continuous improvement.
The Role
As a Quality Engineer, you’ll be responsible for supporting and improving quality performance across the business, working closely with Production, Engineering and Operations to ensure standards are met and maintained.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting production with quality problem-solving and technical support
- Leading investigations into non-conformances and driving corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Applying root cause analysis techniques to prevent recurrence and improve process control
- Supporting internal and external audits and ensuring readiness across documentation and shop-floor standards
- Maintaining and improving quality documentation, procedures and records
- Working closely with Engineering and Operations to improve product and process compliance
- Promoting a strong quality culture with a practical, visible presence on the shop floor
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Quality Engineer within a manufacturing environment
- Background within heavy / complex manufacturing (rather than high-volume FMCG)
- Strong understanding of quality systems, compliance and controlled documentation
- Confident use of problem-solving tools (e.g., RCA, 5 Whys, Ishikawa, CAPA)
- A practical, proactive approach and comfort working closely with production teams
- Clear communication skills and the confidence to challenge processes constructively
