An established and growing automotive manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive strategic growth across UK and European OEM and Tier 1 customers. This is a high-impact, customer-facing role suited to a commercially driven individual with proven experience in the automotive industry and a strong understanding of OEM supply chains.
The Role
You will manage and develop an existing portfolio of automotive customers while proactively identifying and securing new business opportunities. Working closely with engineering and project teams, you will help translate technical capability into commercially successful programmes. The split is approximately:
- 75% account management / growth of existing OEM & Tier 1 customers
- 25% new business development
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new business within the UK and European automotive market
- Grow and strengthen relationships with OEM and Tier 1 customers
- Lead RFQs, pricing strategies, commercial negotiations and long-term agreements
- Build strong relationships across engineering, purchasing and senior leadership teams
- Support customer programmes from enquiry through to production launch
- Provide market intelligence to influence product development and strategic direction
Essential Experience
- Proven background in automotive business development or key account management
- Strong knowledge of OEM & Tier 1 automotive supply chains
- Experience managing RFQ processes and commercial negotiations
- Demonstrable track record of revenue growth within the automotive sector
- Confident engaging with technical and engineering stakeholders
- Experience within NVH, rubber, polymer, components or engineered solutions would be advantageous but is not essential
