A well-established manufacturing business based in South Wales is seeking a Toolmaker / Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team. This is a varied, hands-on role working with lathes, CNC machinery and milling equipment, supporting both tooling and machinery across the site. The business is open to experienced engineers as well as trainee or early-career candidates who are looking to build a long-term career in engineering.
The Role
- Manufacturing, modifying and repairing tooling and components
- Operating and maintaining lathes, CNC machines and mills
- Supporting planned and reactive maintenance on production machinery
- Mechanical fault-finding on spindles, bearings, drives and moving parts
- Working from engineering drawings and specifications
- Assisting with breakdowns and continuous improvement activities
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety and housekeeping
What We're Looking For
- Experience as a Toolmaker, Maintenance Engineer, Machinist or similar OR a trainee / early-career engineer with college-level engineering qualifications
- Exposure to machining, CNC, lathes or milling machines
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills
- Willingness to learn and develop across both tooling and maintenance
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
