A well-established manufacturing business based in South Wales is seeking a Toolmaker / Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team. This is a varied, hands-on role working with lathes, CNC machinery and milling equipment, supporting both tooling and machinery across the site. The business is open to experienced engineers as well as trainee or early-career candidates who are looking to build a long-term career in engineering.

The Role

  • Manufacturing, modifying and repairing tooling and components
  • Operating and maintaining lathes, CNC machines and mills
  • Supporting planned and reactive maintenance on production machinery
  • Mechanical fault-finding on spindles, bearings, drives and moving parts
  • Working from engineering drawings and specifications
  • Assisting with breakdowns and continuous improvement activities
  • Maintaining high standards of health, safety and housekeeping

What We're Looking For

  • Experience as a Toolmaker, Maintenance Engineer, Machinist or similar OR a trainee / early-career engineer with college-level engineering qualifications
  • Exposure to machining, CNC, lathes or milling machines
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to learn and develop across both tooling and maintenance
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic
