We are recruiting a SHEQ Manager to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Cardiff. This is a key leadership role, responsible for overseeing Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality activities across the site. The role plays a critical part in ensuring compliance, driving continuous improvement, and embedding a strong SHEQ culture throughout the business. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership and operational teams to support performance, safety, and quality standards.
The Role
- Lead and manage all SHEQ activities across the site
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, environmental regulations, and quality standards
- Maintain and develop management systems such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 (where applicable)
- Act as the main point of contact for internal and external audits, inspections, and regulatory bodies
- Drive a proactive health & safety culture, engaging employees at all levels
- Lead risk assessments, accident investigations, and implementation of corrective actions
- Monitor SHEQ KPIs and performance data, identifying trends and improvement opportunities
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across safety, quality, and environmental performance
- Work closely with managers and supervisors to ensure SHEQ standards are embedded into daily operations
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in a SHEQ / QHSE / HSEQ Manager role within manufacturing or engineering
- Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and best practice
- Experience managing quality and environmental management systems
- Confident communicator, able to influence and engage across all levels of the business
- Methodical, organised, and proactive approach
- NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent) desirable
