A Quality Manager is required for an established manufacturing business in South Wales. This is a key leadership role responsible for maintaining high standards across the business and supporting continuous improvement activities throughout manufacturing operations.
The successful candidate will work closely with site leadership, production teams and customers to ensure quality performance remains a key focus across the organisation.
The Role
- Take ownership of the quality function and provide guidance, support and leadership across the business.
- Maintain effective systems, resolve quality concerns and identify opportunities to improve performance, efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and maintain the site's quality systems and procedures.
- Plan and conduct internal audits and support external assessments.
- Investigate quality concerns and implement effective corrective actions.
- Analyse performance data and identify areas for improvement.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering and Operations teams.
- Support customer and supplier quality activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
- Maintain inspection and measurement systems.
- Produce quality reports and monitor key performance indicators.
- Promote best practice throughout manufacturing operations.
- Develop and support members of the quality team.
- Assist with the introduction of new products and manufacturing processes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and customer requirements.
Experience needed
- Previous experience within a Quality Manager role in manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of quality systems and auditing activities.
- Experience investigating root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Ability to interpret data and drive improvements.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Hands-on approach with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Customer-focused mindset.
Desirable
- Knowledge of APQP and PPAP processes.
- Experience with statistical process control techniques.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma exposure.
- Experience supporting new product introduction activities.
