The role and responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced bid manager who is passionate about helping people win work. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the bids capability across the firm, driving the strategy to transform and elevate the support provided to the business. This will include working closely with Sector and Service Heads to assess where to focus central resource whilst also developing skills and materials to enable self-service where required. The candidate will also line manage two Bid Executives; one based in London and one based in our office in Cape Town, South Africa. The Bids Executives are responsible for the end-to-end delivery of a significant volume of bid submissions which clearly demonstrate the features and benefits of working with haysmacintyre. The Bid Manager will also be expected to manage several bids alongside their additional responsibilities. Bid capability leadership
- Lead the bids capability, working closely with the Marketing and BD Director to drive the strategic direction of the support provided.
- Implement best practice processes both within the team and across the firm.
- Line management of two Bid Executives, allocating resource for each bid as required.
- Create and develop new content: evaluate recent bids, make recommendations on how to improve submissions and keep up to date with bid best practice.
- Lead the development of a bid library.
- Develop self-serve materials and training to enable the upskilling of the wider business.
- Work with a copywriting agency to elevate the template content of standard bid submissions and how we talk about ourselves using brand guidelines.
Bid Management
- End to end management of the bid submission.
- Lead the kick off session, and curate key win themes for each opportunity.
- Draft customised bid documents to answer Invitations to Tender (ITTs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) in a dynamic and responsive manner.
- Support the preparation for high value pitches.
- Working with partners to drive best practice throughout the process.
- Obtain feedback from the prospective client once the process has concluded.
