We are excited to be partnering with Yorkshire Water in the recruitment of a Land Acquisition Surveyor to join the team. The Land and Property Department is a key part of how they plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators.

As a Land Acquisition Surveyor, you will be an integral part of the Estates Team in the Land and Property department. Reporting directly to the Lead Acquisition Surveyor, you will assist with the capital investment programme. Your workload will be incredibly varied, from supporting the Lead Surveyor on relating strategies and national objectives to acquiring land, access and rights to help capital projects be delivered to budget and on time. In addition, alongside the Lead Acquisition Surveyor, you will also be assisting and supporting colleagues across the business by providing technical advice on various land-related matters including land compensation claims, CPOs and DCOs.

You should have extensive knowledge and experience of legal and regulatory requirements relating to land and property ownership, acquisition, understanding of property legislation and processes connected to land access and rights.

  • Experience of inspecting different types of land and property independently.
  • A good knowledge base and experience of the legal and regulatory requirements relating to the ownership, management, purchase and sale of land and property.
  • A full driving licence.
  • A good understanding of the commercial environment.
  • Understanding of rural economics and budgeting.
  • A genuine interest in the rural environment and its future.
  • Knowledge of the water industry and/or experience working in a regulated environment.

A competitive salary, depending on experience £43,577 - £54,472.
