Your new company is a well-established and highly regarded independent accountancy practice seeking an experienced Cloud Bookkeeper to join its growing team. The firm has built a strong reputation for providing proactive accounting and business advisory services to a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses across Yorkshire. Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for a motivated bookkeeping professional who enjoys working closely with clients and utilising modern cloud-based accounting technology.
Your new role as a Cloud Bookkeeper will involve taking ownership of a varied portfolio of small business clients, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial information whilst building strong client relationships. Alongside experienced accountants and advisors, you will support clients with their day-to-day bookkeeping needs and assist with wider accounts preparation work across the practice.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing a portfolio of cloud accounting clients
- Processing financial records using cloud-based accounting software
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Liaising directly with clients via telephone and email
- Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records and reconciliations
- Assisting with accounts preparation up to trial balance
- Supporting senior accountants with management accounts and ad-hoc assignments
- Ensuring client deadlines are met consistently
What you'll need to succeed:
- Previous bookkeeping experience gained within an accountancy practice environment
- Strong working knowledge of cloud accounting software including Xero, Sage and QuickBooks
- Experience preparing bookkeeping records for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Strong communication and client relationship skills
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- A proactive and positive approach to teamwork
