Preston Primary School looking to secure a Year 1 Class Teacher from January 2025 to Summer

A school in the Preston area has approached Hays looking to secure a Primary School Teacher for Year 1 on a full-time basis to cover maternity leave running from January 2025 through till Summer 2025. This year 1 class has a diverse range of pupils from different backgrounds, with various levels of ability, making this an ideal class for a newly qualified teacher. This school has a solid leadership team that places high importance on staff wellbeing and the school was rated ‘Good’ by OFSTED, with comments from the report noting the school as friendly and supportive.
Your new role
This role will give you full teaching responsibilities, including planning, delivering and marking work as well as conducting parents’ evening. You will have an experienced TA on hand to assist when needed with the pupils and classroom duties. To be successful in this role you should have a flair for creative teaching and making these lessons as engaging as possible for the pupils. You should have strong behaviour management skills as the class will have a mixture of varying abilities.
What you’ll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you must possess Qualified Teacher Status and have good knowledge of the KS1 Curriculum. You need to be a good team player, have good time management and behaviour management skills. NQTs/ECTs are welcome to apply for the role.If you are not a qualified Teacher, but have recent experience working with children, we may have other roles available for you.
