Interim Senior Finance Manager / Head of Finance
Location: Woodford, EssexContract: Interim (Approx. 6 Months)

A small and growing Multi-Academy Trust is seeking an experienced Interim Senior Finance Manager / Head of Finance to provide hands-on leadership during a critical period, including year-end and audit.This is a highly operational role requiring an experienced finance leader who is willing to roll up their sleeves, lead from the front, and support a small finance team while ensuring the Trust maintains strong financial controls and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the day-to-day finance function within the Trust.
Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
Manage budgeting, forecasting, cashflow, and financial reporting activities.
Support and develop a small finance team.
Lead the year-end process, including preparation of statutory accounts and supporting schedules.
Act as the key contact for external auditors and manage the annual audit process.
Ensure compliance with Academy Trust financial regulations and reporting requirements.
Provide financial guidance and support to senior leadership.
Candidate Requirements
CCAB Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA or equivalent).
Proven experience operating at Senior Finance Manager, Head of Finance, Financial Controller or Finance Director level.
Strong experience producing management accounts and leading year-end statutory accounts processes.
Experience liaising with auditors and managing successful audits.
Previous experience within education, academies, Multi-Academy Trusts, public sector or not-for-profit environments would be advantageous.
A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work operationally as well as strategically.
Must be willing and able to work on-site in Woodford, Essex, 5 days per week. This is a non-negotiable requirement.
